Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for the timely, accurate and efficient receiving, stocking, picking and loading of products in the Marquette warehouse. They also ensure that all Marquette building systems and equipment are functioning efficiently and maintained in a clean, organized fashion. This includes preventative maintenance and repair work, as well as the safety and security of the building, equipment, grounds and all people in the workplace.  The Operations Manager also leads, manages and holds the Operations team accountable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action for the Marquette Warehouse Associates and Delivery Drivers
  • Plan, develop, recommend, and implement changes to the Marquette Operations team
  • Manage schedules for Warehouse Associates and Delivery Drivers, review time clock for approval and submit payroll information on a weekly basis
  • Oversee and assist in receiving and stocking products, picking and loading orders, the tie-out (reconcile) of daily delivery routes, as well as the maintenance and safety of the building, equipment, grounds and people of Imperial Beverage
  • Coordinate with Inbound Logistics Manager regarding supplier delivery schedules
  • Coordinate with Outbound Logistics Manager regarding which delivery trucks are loaded each night and use delivery reports to setup nightly loading plan
  • Track receiving, stocking, picking and loading reports to locate inefficiencies and monitor productivity
  • Manage warehouse inventory
  • Track and submit employee productivity information regarding goals for company scorecard
  • Monitor equipment repair needs and recommend updates to equipment as required
  • Oversee the delivery of product ordered from suppliers to the Imperial Beverage warehouse
  • Review procedures for warehouse functions and make corrections for smoother operations
  • Present recommendations and make improvements to safety, security and maintenance
  • Ensure DOT compliance by verifying balanced weight of product in each delivery truck
  • Manage department budget
  • Prioritize and schedule facilities work requests and preventative maintenance tasks and act as the project manager for any facility-related projects, developing project scopes, budgets, communicating with affected parties and seeing projects through to their successful conclusion
  • Monitor daily safety and security checks throughout the facility to ensure a safe and clean environment and eliminate all hazards and security issues
  • Responsible for coordinating and implementing safety training, procedures, rules and regulations, including warning violators of infractions and emergency preparedness
  • Conduct incident investigations to help analyze and document accidents and/or near-miss incidents to determine causes and how accidents might be prevented in the future
  • Maintain accurate and organized inventory at Marquette Warehouse
  • Serve as the OSHA/MIOSHA compliance resource in Marquette

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, some college education preferred
  • 2+ years' experience in management
  • 2+ years' warehouse, general maintenance and/or safety experience preferred
  • Leadership skills to direct employees and oversee department operations
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions quickly and efficiently while remaining calm and professional
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assess priorities effectively
  • Flexibility to work with varying hours
  • Sense of urgency and attention to detail while working within deadlines
  • Ability to coordinate processes and work well with various departments
  • Intermediate computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to assess and resolve repair and maintenance issues, including the ability to operate a variety of hand tools
  • Experience developing and managing projects executed by third party contractors
